One of the dangers at home for toddlers and babies are the electrical outlets. These seem to attract babies' and toddlers' attention maybe because their little fingers can almost fit the hole or for toddlers and kids, these may be perfect for sticking their pencils or any random thin thing. Luckily, my daughters. who are 3 and 6, never played with electrical outlets and when they were younger, just to be sure, I used to put the small plastic electrical covers which cover the socket itself. The problem is, they can easily be removed by little hands but as I've said, I'm lucky that my daughters never played with the electrical outlets. They're not even allowed to plug something in, even if it's just their Nintendo 3DS charger.
The COVERPLUG is a durable, molded, and paintable plastic panel that plugs right into an electrical socket to cover the entire outlet. These innovative outlet covers are held securely in place by posts on the back that align with the ground openings and require no tools for installation or removal. They are made in the USA and use a specially designed plastic that is easily paintable to match your wall color.
The COVERPLUG has two main functions which are:
- Creates a physical and visual barrier between your family and electrical outlets.
- Covers unsightly outlets and makes them virtually disappear.
You just have to align the extended part of the COVERPLUG at the back with the outlet's ground openings.
Then just push it to securely cover the electrical outlet. (Pardon the nail polish since my 3 year old daughter painted them again.. :))
It took me only 5 seconds and a hand to install it while I took pictures with my other hand. I didn't have time to try to paint the COVERPLUG anymore but the plastic it's supposed to be paintable. And besides, the color of the COVERPLUG kind of blends already with our wall. :)
I love how easy it is to install the COVERPLUG and how it covers the electrical outlet completely. I put the 2 COVERPLUGS on our outlets which are not often used. They are a bit harder to remove than the small plastic outlet covers but I like these more since kids will have a harder time removing this IF they'll even notice it. Even though my daughters know that they shouldn't touch or insert anything on electrical outlets, the COVERPLUG gave me more confidence that my daughters wouldn't accidentally touch it or plug something in.
You can purchase the COVERPLUG on their website for $8.50 for a 2-pack. BUY IT HERE.

I like that they are super easy to install, and these would be great for my son and daughter-in-law to put all over the house. To keep my grandson from doing something he would not like if he stuck something in an outlet-
ReplyDeleteI've tried CoverPlug before and really like them. They are so easy to install! We recently moved into a bigger place that has a lot of plug ins, so I would love to win, and use them to make my home safer.
ReplyDeleteI like the no tools needed, so I don't have to hunt for a screwdriver. I'd give it to my nephew who has a busy 14 month old son.
ReplyDeleteI love how easy and quick they are to install. Most of our friends have small children, and I would use these to childproof our home and keep the little ones safe when they come over for visits.
ReplyDeleteI like that these are easy to use. We would use these to help baby-proof for our toddler granddaughter.
