Yo Gabba Gabba! A Very Awesome Yo Gabba Gabba! Christmas DVD Review

My daughters always look forward to Christmas. I mean who doesn't? :) I look forward to Christmas too. When I was younger, it was about receiving and opening presents but as I got older (and had my 2 daughters :P) Christmas became about them and my family. :) I now tell them about Santa Claus and that they have to be good all year round so that they'll be on Santa's "Nice" list.

This year, we've put up the Christmas tree a lot earlier than the previous years. We've set it up a day or maybe two after Halloween. Now it wouldn't be complete without my daughters watching Christmas themed shows and listening to Christmas songs.

The Yo Gabba Gabba! A Very Awesome Yo Gabba Gabba Christmas! DVD was a perfect match. My daughters have been watching this for a few days now and even I watch it too. It features a very special guest to which my daughters squealed with delight when they saw him *ehem**Santa Claus**ehem* :D The songs were very catchy and it taught my daughters that Christmas isn't just about "receiving" but also about "giving". They also loved it when the Yo Gabba Gabba! gang put up their Christmas tree and kept comparing the Yo Gabba Gabba's! Christmas tree to ours.

I recommend this DVD because it's a perfect show to watch this Christmas season. :)

Here are some more information about the DVD from NCircle Entertainment:

"A Very Awesome Christmas Special" - It's a Christmas celebration when DJ Lance places a gingerbread house into Gabba Land! The Gabba gang make new friends with neighbors and everyone is excited to exchange gifts, but what can they possibility get for Santa Claus?
"Christmas" - So much of Christmas is about receiving, but in this episode the Gabba gang learns about giving through the songs "Making Presents" and "For Me For You." They celebrate winter and the holiday season in the songs "I Love Winter" and "Decorate the Tree."

Puffs Fresh Faces Review and Giveaway 11/30 US

Have you experienced your children running away from you or pushing you away or sometimes even crying when you're cleaning their noses? I HAVE! As a mom of 2 girls, I am a BIG fan of Boogie Wipes because my daughters (they're 2 and 5) always complain and run away when I clean their noses. Oh yes I've experienced cleaning dried and stuck boogers (and I mean A LOT) on their noses specially in the morning when they wake up because of their allergies. I am glad of the Boogie Wipes because it makes "The Task" easier for me plus they're scented too!

Now I wouldn't deny that sometimes I have dried and stuck boogers in the morning (I'm human too! :P) specially when my allergies kick in. I was excited to try the New Puffs Fresh Faces because it was established from the same team of moms who made Boogie Wipes. Of course it isn't just for noses but I used it to remove make-up (specially in in the eye area), freshen my face in the afternoon or when my face becomes too oily. I also use the Lavender scented Puffs Fresh Faces when I am a little bit stressed or if I wanted to relax.

What I like about the Puffs Fresh Faces is that it is made with Natural Saline. The cloth wipes are REALLY soft. I also loved it because some products make my skin to breakout (Oh yes I still get acne breakouts) but Puffs Fresh Faces didn't do that (Thank God! :P). I also loved it as an eye make-up remover. I am using an eye make-up remover now and it claims it's alcohol-free but my eyes still sting when I use it. When I used the Puffs Fresh Faces as an eye make-up remover, my eyes didn't sting at all and it's effective to remove make-up as well.

Since the Flu season has arrived, Puffs Fresh Faces also has one with Vicks on it so you can breath better. I would have to try that one out! :)

For just $4.99 for the 45-count Puffs Fresh faces or $1.99 for the 15-count, I am confident that this is worth the price. There's even a $2 OFF Coupon for any 15 or 45 count Puffs Fresh Faces you can request for a limited time here and it will be mailed to you. That's like getting the 15-count Puffs Fresh Faces free! :)

Now onto the giveaway! Yay!! :) 1 winner will win (1) 45 count Puffs Fresh Faces (choose between Fragrance Free or Light Lavender) and (1) 15 count Puffs Fresh Faces (choose from Vicks Menthol, Fragrance Free, Light Lavender, Fresh Scent). Enter in the rafflecopter below.

GIANTmicrobes- Rhinovirus (The Common Cold) Review

If you have a common cold, do you know what causes it? Can you imagine what the organism looks like?

This is the organism which cause your Common Cold. Can you imagine this cute and little plush doll can cause that dreaded sneezing, coughing, sore throat and runny nose? Okay not exactly this cute plush doll but the super miniature version of it. It's called a rhinovirus and it causes the common cold.

Okay here is a microscopic view of the rhinovirus. It does look like the cute little plush doll my 5 year old daughter is holding but I am not happy if these viruses go inside my body.

As a stay-at-home mom to a 2 and 5 year old, I came across the GIANTmicrobes on another blogger's page and instantly I wanted one for my daughters. I am familiar with the organisms on the GIANTmicrobes' website because I studied them when I was in college. Yes, I followed my mom's footsteps as a Medical Technologist and studied these little organisms for 4 years! (And I am NOT kidding when I say I've studied a lot more!) :)  I saw the resemblance of the plush toys to the actual organisms and body fluids you can see under the microscope. (Yes I've seen a lot of organisms under the microscope already) For me, this is great to make other people aware on what organisms causes some common sickness.

I was excited to see the GIANTmicrobe in the mail and my 5 year old immediately asked what it was. I think she wondered why the plush toy looks very different from her other plush toy. So I told her that this is what causes her cough and sneezes and sore throat. Now she knows this herself and when she sees the plush toy, she tells my younger daughter about it. :)

Here is my 2 1/2 year old daughter with the rhinovirus GIANTmicrobe and she calls it "my baby". LOL.

I think their products are great. The GIANTmicrobe plush toy I received was really soft and the color is very vibrant.

You can find more information on these cute plush toys on GIANTmicrobes' facebook page here:

Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice N' Easy Review and Giveaway 11/23

I have jet black hair and the only hair color that works for me is the L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference made specifically for Dark Hair (UL61 Hi-Lift Ash Brown). That was my opinion before I tried the Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice N' Easy #6..

Being Asian, I have jet black hair and I have tried different in-home hair color products and the outcome is still the same. The only thing that finally worked on my hair was the L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference UL61. When my roots grow, I always do a whole hair application to color my roots (because I don't want to waste the extra hair color). This process takes longer and the smell is a bit overwhelming.

I am due to color my hair but thinking of the longer time I needed for a whole hair application, I kept putting it off. I saw the Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice N' Easy 6 (Matches Light Brown Shades) and decided to give it a try.

I opened the box and saw that there is a small plastic mixing tray for the hair color and a brush for the application.
I followed the instructions and noticed that the smell is more subtle than the scent of the L'Oreal Paris hair color.
Here is a photo of the small mixing bowl. I like the mixing tray and the brush applicator. It made applying the hair color easier and direct to my roots.
It says to leave it on for 10 minutes but I left mine for about 15 minutes (I forgot about the time) LOL. I rinsed it off with water then continued shampooing my hair and then used a conditioner.

And the outcome? The color matched my current colored hair. :) The Clairol Root Touch-Up claims that it matches Light Brown shades but it also matched my L'Oreal Paris UL61 shade. I am happy to have tried the Clairol Root Touch-Up by Nice N' Easy because it shortened my hair coloring time, it was easy to apply and it matched my current shade perfectly. :)

There are 21 shades available designed to match your current hair shade. :) I definitely recommend it as I've tried it personally and have loved the result.

*Please note that results may vary and that this is based on my own experience. My hubby and I use the same hair color shade but the outcome of our hair shades after differs greatly. :)

Now enter the rafflecopter below for your chance to win a coupon for a Free Clairol Root Touch Up by Nice N' Easy. There will be 3 winners! :) Good luck! :)

OxiClean™ 2in1 Stain Fighter plus Color Safe Brightener Review

Being a mom to 2 girls (ages 2 and 5), it would be a surprise if their clothes are stain-free and dirt-free at the end of the day. 99% of the time (and I am not exaggerating :)), their clothes would either be stained with food or get dirty with something from I don't know where. I have a hard time specially with their clothes because most of the time, stains from the food they spill on their clothes wouldn't come off. I would have to pretreat their stained clothes before the stains would come off and sometimes, the stains never come off.

As a member of Smiley360, I was given the chance to try the OxiClean 2in1 Stain Fighter plus Color Safe Brightener. I added it to my laundry detergent to test it's stain fighting power. I added OxiClean 2in1 Stain Fighter plus Color Safe Brightener (filled it up to 3/8 of the cup or up to line 3 for large loads) to my usual laundry detergent.

Here are some of the clothes of my daughters before I washed it. I didn't do any pretreatment for the stains on their clothes.

After the wash cycle, here are the pictures of their newly washed clothes. :)

Oh yay! The stains were gone. :) I also noticed the brighter color (for the colored clothes) and the whiter color (for the whites) of the clothes. I also loved it because I didn't pretreat their clothes and the result was still great. The price is pricier ($8.95 per 66 oz. bottle of the OxiClean 2in1) than the stain fighter I used before (the boxed one in powder form) but the results are a lot better. :) So I will definitely use this for my 2 daughters' clothes because their clothes need all the stain fighting power they need and would use the cheaper one (the powdered one) for me and my hubby's clothes. :)

You can also like OxiClean on facebook for exclusive offers and promotions on their products.

*DISCLOSURE: I am a member of Smiley360 and I received a Walmart gift card to buy the OxiClean 2in1 Stain fighter plus Color Safe Brightener and try it. McDonald's Books for Happy Meal Review and Giveaway (5 WINNERS)!

From November 1 to 14, McDonald's USA will be swapping their Happy Meal toys with books in time for the National Family Literacy Day. In collaboration with Reading is Fundamental (RIF), RIF will distribute 100,000 Happy Meal Books to those children who don't have easy access to books.

As part of the launch of Happy Meal Books, McDonald’s is collaborating with Reading is Fundamental (RIF), the largest children’s literacy non-profit in the U.S., to help more children and their families discover the joy of reading. RIF will distribute 100,000 Happy Meal Books to children who do not have easy access to books.

There would be 4 books to collect and the titles are:
  • The Goat Who Ate Everything
  • Deana’s Big Dreams
  • Ant, Can’t
  • Doddi the Dodo Goes to Orlando

Here is a youtube video of "Deana's Big Dreams" by Family Arches: Melanie, Xenia, Nicole, Barb and Connie

And the "Ant Can't" video read by celebrity friends Colin Kaepernick, Alex Morgan, Mark Consuelos, Trevor Jackson, DJ Irie, and Daym Drops.

It doesn't stop here because starting November 1, there will be an e-book available on the McPlay App each month. The first e-book would be The World’s Greatest Cities from the DK’s Amazing World Series.
Kids would be able to read and interact with the story in the McPlay App.

The book "The Goat Who Ate Everything" also has the interactive digital version on the McPlay app and they will be able to access and interact with the digital version there.

The fun doesn't stop because you can also download the Happy meal Books as well as the DK Publishing e-books at the McDonald's website. There would also be Spanish versions of the McDonald's Happy Meal books on McDonalds.com and MeEncanta.com

You can read more information about the McDonald's book here. :)

I am very excited about these books because my daughters love it when I read books to them (they are 2 and 5 years old). My daughters have A LOT of happy meal toys collected throughout the years and in my experience, they would only play with the happy meal toys for a few days and then they'd put them in their toy box (of course I still buy them the happy meal because they love the food and nothing can compare to their happy faces when they get the toy. :)) and then completely forget about it. Now with these limited time books, we can read them over and over again and add it to our small library of reading books.

Now for the fun part, my VERY FIRST giveaway!! (YAY!! :))

5 Winners will each receive a Family Reading pack with all four books, a McDonald's blanket, a reading light and a McDonald's Arch gift card. Now isn't that fun?! My giveaway would start November 4, 2013 at 12:00 AM PST and will end November 8, 2013 at 12:00 AM PST. This will be open to US residents only. The prize cannot be shipped to a P.O. box address. Winners will be notified by email and will have 24 hours to respond before a new winner is selected. I am not responsible for prize fulfillment. My role is to give the sponsor the information of the winner and they will directly ship the prize to the winner. I am a member of the Family Arches Community and I will be given the same prize pack.. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.  I do not share or sell information and all information shared with me will solely be used for the prize shipment.

Halloween TruMoo Chocolate Milk Review #GotItFree

I've been invited to be on a BzzCampaign for the TruMoo Halloween Chocolate Milk and Vanilla Milk. Even before being invited to the campaign, we've been buying the TruMoo Chocolate Milk because my daughters love it. My 5 year old daughter is a picky eater and my 2 1/2 year old daughter still nurses and only drinks milk if it's the TruMoo Chocolate milk (I've tried giving her Almond milk, soy milk and the plain white milk and she didn't like them all).

Here is a picture of my 2 daughters posing with the TruMoo Chocolate Milk. :)

I am glad TruMoo is a trusted brand made with pure, fresh milk from a trusted dairy, there is no artificial growth hormones and no high fructose corn syrup. It also has *35% less sugar than a leading chocolate brand. It makes me confident and assured that my daughters are getting nutrients they need in a fun and delicious way.

*A leading low-fat and fat-free chocolate milk brand contains 28g of sugar per serving. TruMoo® low-fat and fat-free chocolate milk contains 18g of sugar per serving.

DISCLOSURE: I am a member of BzzAgent and I was given a free product coupon to claim a TruMoo Chocolate Milk. I was not required to do a review of the product but because my kids love it, I made a blog review of it. All opinions are honest and based on my own experience. No other form of compensation was given.
