The "Green Thumb" Theme has 2 crafts included.
The first craft was the Plant Buddy craft. My daughters were so excited to do this. Since they're only 3 and 6, I had to supervise them with the instructions.
I let them gather all the materials needed (which were already included inside the box) and read them the directions one by one.
Here is a short video of how they made the Plant Buddy.
Then I dunked the head of their Plant Buddy for 3 minutes. After that, we placed it outside our porch.
Can you spot Mr. Plant Buddy?? :) My daughters couldn't wait for him to grow his "hair". :)
For craft number 2, my daughters decorated their own wind chime. Again, all the materials needed are already included inside the box. They were so excited to decorate their wind chime.
To make things easier for them, and for me, I already put the glue all over one side so that they'll just stick the mosaic pieces on the board. They love the colorful pieces and they had fun doing their "abstract" work of art. :) When they were done, we waited about 5 minutes then flipped the wind chime over so that they can decorate the other side.
I also put glue all over this side so that they'll just stick the mosaic pieces on the board.
They decorated it like the 1st side.
And when they were done, I waited for the second side to dry.
When it was dry, I hung it on our porch. My daughters were so proud of their design. :)
The Surprise Ride Subscription box is a great way to receive fun and educational hands-on activities for kids. My daughters loved the crafts included and they had fun doing them. I love that all the materials needed for the craft are already included in the subscription box so that would save me time from gathering the things needed for each craft. Each craft is also very educational (the plant buddy) and made my daughters' imaginations work (the wind chime).
Update: Here is a photo of my daughters' Mr. Plant Buddy. They water "him" (I refer to him as him because they called him Mr. Plant Buddy :)) everyday and cut his "hair" (the grass) once every few days. I think they're learning how to be more responsible for Mr. Plant Buddy and that's nice because they've added another "to-do" task in their everyday list.
You can visit the Surprise Ride Website to see more of their past boxes.

I like that they offer so many different things for the kids to have and work on with each box.
ReplyDeleteI like that they have different themes, so you can work with your kids and tell them about each theme as it comes.
ReplyDeleteI like that the boxes are themed, that they have everything included that you need to complete the project, and that there's an extra item like a book to go with it.
