Safely Clean And Remove Mold & Mildew With MoldZyme By EcoDiscoveries
Our bathroom sink has got to be the place where soap scum and sometimes molds are almost always present. I honestly don't take care of our bathroom sink as often as I should (and I know I have to clean it every other day because of my daughters playing in the sink) and I am guilty about that. Plus, being a bit clogged (water drains very slow), this causes mildew formation as well.
I used to use a multi-surface cleaner before and worked very well but if we can, and if there are deals, I like to use chemical-free ingredients because my daughters and I have allergies. They're manageable but I'd like to lessen their frequency as much as I can.
EcoDiscoveries is more than just a brand of "green cleaners". They're a thought leader in a movement to replace conventional chemicals with natural alternatives. They provide an eco-friendly cleaning solution for those with Asthma, Allergies and Chemical Sensitive persons.
When EcoDiscoveries sent me a variety of their eco-friendly cleaning solutions, I was super excited to try them. They sent me their Moldzyme, Multi-Surface, Airzyme and Harvest. For this review, I'll focus on their Moldzyme product.
The Moldzyme® is EcoDiscoveries' oldest and best selling product. It is made up of a special blend of enzymes and other natural ingredients that make it a superior product for removing mold stains without bleach or other toxic chemicals. It can be sprayed on hard surfaces, in air vents and even fogged in indoor spaces. Perfect for individuals with indoor allergies and other chemical sensitivities.
The Moldzyme came in a small 2 oz. concentrated bottle and an empty white spray bottle. The instructions are very easy to follow to make the Moldzyme solution. I used our faucet-mounted water filter to fill the bottle with water. The level of water needed is a bit hard to estimate since the spray bottle isn't clear. I had to peep inside the bottle once in a while to make sure the water level is at the right level already.
The Moldzyme has a clear brown color and has a subtle chlorine-like smell. I poured the concentrated Moldzyme in the spray bottle with water, covered it with the spray cover and then swirled/shook it to mix the solution properly.
The spray bottle can be closed by rotating the spray's mouth to the STOP position. There are also 2 different spray settings which can be chosen by rotating the spray's mouth.
I sprayed our sink with the Moldzyme until it was soaked and then proceeded to wipe it clean. I didn't have to wait or let the Moldzyme stand for a couple of minutes before wiping our sink and I also didn't have to scrub it hard to remove the soap scum and a bit of molds.
The Moldzyme doesn't have an irritating smell and I didn't have to wear gloves to clean our sink. It's gentle on the nose and skin and yet it's effective to remove soap scum and molds. I love that it's non-toxic and safer than my previous bathroom cleaner.
