Accurately Measure Liquid Medicine Dosing With The Acu-Life True Easy Syringe Review

My daughters are just 3 and 6 years old and when I give them medicine, it's always in the liquid form because they don't know how to take the ones in a pill or capsule form yet. I have LOTS of medicine dosing cups at home because they have seasonal allergies. I also have tried to use the disposable syringe in the past when they took antibiotics (the syringe came with the antibiotic) for their ear and strep infection. The problem with the disposable syringes was that the calibrations erase easily after a couple of washes.

When I received the True Easy Syringe, I wasn't expecting to see a cool looking syringe. Unlike disposable syringes, this is much thicker and looks more durable.

The dosing starts at 2.5 mL (0.5 tsp.) and goes up in increments of 2.5 mL until it's maximum dosing capacity which is 10 mL (2 tsp). The calibrations are very big and easy to read and they don't fade or erase easily.

What I noticed was how easy the dosing system is. At the bottom of the plunger, there is a color coded dial which controls the flow of liquid medicine. Whatever dosage I match with the arrow, that's the only amount of medicine allowed to flow through the syringe. For example, I set the dial to 0.5 tsp which is 2.5 mL, the plunger wouldn't go over the 2.5 mL calibration even if I try to pull it past the 2.5 mL mark. I think this is a great idea and a great feature because in a disposable syringe, I would always have to check on whether I got the correct dosage or not. With the True Syringe, I just set the dial and then pull on the plunger to get the exact dosage I wanted.

Cleaning the True Syringe is easy too. I just unscrew the orange part, which is also kind of a safety lock to keep the plunger in the syringe barrel, to remove the plunger. I then just put a small amount of soap and run the barrel and plunger under running water and let it dry. I like the orange screw lock safety feature too because I am sure that I wouldn't accidentally pull on the plunger too much.

This is a very nice and accurate dosing system for liquid medicine. It's very easy to use, very easy to clean and very handy. I threw all our dosing cups away already and replaced it with this one because for me, this is much more safe and precise to use.
