Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
My 5 year old daughter has always been fascinated with stars. When I told her that I had a star named after her, she was super excited. I showed her where her star is located and she said it was "Soo coool!". :)
I was sent (via email) a certificate on where the star name after her is located and the coordinates. It has a specific longitude and latitude and when we view it on google maps, we saw where it was. Please note that the picture above is just a sample of the certificate and not my daughter's certificate. It has the same design though just different coordinates (star named after my daughter) and of course the certificate sent to me has my daughter's name. :)
I think it's nice too because I can include a message for her. When I hover the mouse pointer over the yellow pin on her star, I can see my message for her.
When I received my certificate through email (which is just a day after I sent in my daughter's name and my message for her), I had to download and install google earth first then download the star list before I can view my daughter's star on the computer. It was fairly easy to do and it was amazing to see that indeed, a star has been named after my daughter. :)
I think this is a great gift because it will be treasured for a lifetime. They send it through email so if you're in a hurry to buy a gift for your loved one, you're at an advantage because you just have to print it and then frame it. For $12.99, this is a truly unique gift.
You can visit the Name A Star website to learn more.
