About Patterns of Evidence Exodus:

For more than 50 years, the vast majority of the world's most prominent archaeologists and historians have proclaimed that there is no hard evidence to support the Exodus story found in the Bible.  In fact, they say that the archaeological record is completely opposed to the Bible's account.  This view of extreme skepticism has spread from academia to the world.  The case against the Exodus appears to be so strong that even some religious leaders are labeling this ancient account as historical fiction.  Filmmaker Timothy Mahoney begins with the questions, "Is the Bible just a myth, or did the archaeologists get it wrong?"  He decides to tackle this issue with a deliberate scientific approach.   After examining the details in the biblical text, he journeys across the globe to search for patterns of evidence firsthand.  The result is the most in-depth archaeological investigation into the Exodus from Egypt ever captured on film.   This scientific documentary's goal is to communicate the TRUTH of the Bible and help equip believers with defending their faith and the Bible.  

The DVD features stunning animations and a cast including narrator, Kevin Sorbo (God's Not Dead, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys), interviews with leading archaeologists including Israel Finkelstein, Kent Weeks, and David Rohl, and guest appearances by Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu and Shimon Peres.

MY REVIEW:

The Book of Exodus is the second book in the Old Testament of the Bible. When I was still in elementary and high school, we have a C.L.E. subject and Exodus was one of the books on the Bible which I really liked. It tells of the story of the Israelites leaving Egypt to be free of slavery. With the guidance of God, they were led by Moses, their prophet, to the promised land, Canaan.

When I received the Patterns of Evidence Exodus, I was quite intrigued by it. I love how this documentary made the Book of Exodus more clear to me. This DVD is enlightening and I like how I was able to grasp the Exodus in a more explainable way to other people. I also like how this documentary tackled and explained the Exodus in a more scientific explanation. It's a very nice documentary which made my faith grow deeper and my understanding of the Book of Exodus wider.

A romantic-drama, OLD FASHIONED centers on Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. And Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an "old-fashioned" and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America. 

MY REVIEW:

When I read the title of the movie, Old Fashioned, I expected the story to be well, old fashioned. While watching the movie, I was a bit surprised about how fate really exist. The movie is about Clay Walsh, who was in the past, a frat boy and later on ran an antique shop. He became known and popular about his views and beliefs about love and his faith in God and after he met Amber, he tries to deny his feelings but still, he was attracted to how different her views are. I like how their love story blossomed all throughout the story and I like how innocent and clean the movie is. It shows love and how flattering a clean courtship is.

I love how this movie inspired me. I grew up in a slightly, not overly conservative family so I like how this movie is family friendly. I like how romantic this movie is and it gave me a feeling of true love and happiness. I believe in fate and this movie definitely strengthened my belief in destiny and of course a relationship where God is the center.

In this follow up to Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure, Mickey Matson is at it again; this time pitted against the evil Admiral Ironsides and his gang of pirates who are intent on destroying civilization.  They're new invention, the Tesla Coil, is a weapon of mass destruction that will send an electromagnetic pulse throughout the world, destroying every electronic device in existence.  With the help of a secret organization, Mickey and his best friend Sully embark on a mission to stop the pirates from taking over a submarine and stealing the last part needed to complete their devastating weapon.  If Admiral Ironsides succeeds in his plan, civilization will be sent back to the Stone Age.  It's a race against time, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.  

MY REVIEW:

The Pirate's Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson is a family-friendly movie full of adventure and comedy. My daughters laughed to the jokes and funny parts in the movie and were amazed at the shoes which make them fly. They were asking me if that was real and if they can have a pair.

I like the friendship and teamwork which was clearly shown in the movie. The movie has lots of adventure and action which is appropriate for smaller children as well. There were no foul languages in the movie and I like how this showed Mickey's courage and bravery.

This is the first movie my daughters watched in this genre but they liked it and they understood the movie well. The quality of the picture isn't that nice but the story and the characters were very likeable.

MY REVIEW:

I'll be honest. I was guilty when the question "I say Genesis, you say...?" was asked. I studied in an all-girls' Catholic School when I was in highschool and graduated from a Catholic University in the Philippines but I was left speechless when I tried to answer that question from the film documentary. I was quite ashamed because we studied the Bible when during my elementary and high school days as well as when I was in college. Why was my mind blank when the question was asked in the film? Why can I only remember bits and pieces on the Book of Genesis? Is it because it's been years since I've last read a Bible?

The Roadmap Genesis documentary film made me realize and remember the lessons and teachings I learned from the Book of Genesis more than a decade ago. It's a well-made film which is an eye-opener and full of meaning. It's also fast paced and very informative. 

At the end of the film documentary, I am proud that I can answer the repeatedly asked question in the documentary with confidence. Would you like to know my answer? How about you? What will you answer to the question?

Pocoyo Boo! DVD Review

My 2 daughters loved all the episodes in this DVD, Pocoyo Boo! :) They've watched it a lot of times already and they don't seem to get tired of watching it over and over again. They still laugh at every episode. Even my 2 year old daughter gets the humor in Pocoyo ( I too laugh with them while they watched this). I love how Pocoyo teaches good attitude like being a sport, being friendly to everybody, etc. in a simple way that my 2 and 5 year old daughters understand.

Pocoyo's Circus DVD Review

When I first heard my daughters saying "Pocoyo" I was like "WHAT?!". LOL. I didn't quite get what they were saying then I learned from them that it was a cartoon show that has really cute characters.

I watched this Pocoyo's Circus DVD with them and I can see why they love Pocoyo and his friends. Pocoyo is a little kid who is very cute. He has 3 friends here and their names are Ellie (Elephant), Pato (duck) and Lulu (dog). He also doesn't talk very much but in this episode, he talked! And his voice was so cute specially when he said "naughty naughty". My daughters broke into laughter when he talked. :)

I can say that this DVD is really for younger kids because my daughters aged 2 and 5 understood the episodes well and they laughed at Pocoyo and his friends even though the only voice you can hear most of the time is the voice of the narrator.

Pajanimals: Pajama Party! DVD Review

As a mom of 2 girls (2 and 4 year old), I always look for fun and at the same time educational children's shows. As an NSider, I was given another opportunity by NCircle Entertainment to review their Pajanimals Pajama Party! DVD.  My 2 year old personally picked this title when I showed them the available titles they can pick. So when the DVD came, she was very excited to watch it.

My daughters watched it with excitement. My 2 year old loved the 1st episode. She was excited to see all the balloons in Sweet Pea Sue's birthday party and even recognized the colors. They also danced to the Jiggle Giggle Dance and the Sing, Sing, Sing a Pajanimal Song.

For me, I love that the episodes teach lessons like sharing and not becoming jealous in a subtle way that my daughters understand.

I was also surprised to see a colorful certificate from NCircle for my participation to their NSider program. My 2 year old daughter immediately recogniszed Pocoyo, Elli and Pato. :)

I truly recommend pajama party for younger children because the characters are very fun to watch.

Dino Dan "Dino Party" DVD Review

As a member of the NSider, I was given another opportunity to review the Dino Dan Dino Party DVD. My daughters were excited to watch it specially my 4 year old who loves dinosaurs.

Here is a picture of them watching the Dino Dan Dino Party. They watched it 2x and were very attentive while they watched it. My 4 year old daughter liked the second episode the best. She loved the Stegosaurus and how the spikes changes color depending on the emotions of the Stegosaurus.

I like Dino Dan personally as a mom because the show keeps my daughters entertained and at the same time, they learn about dinosaurs in a very subtle and simple way that they'll remember the name of the dinosaurs. My 2 year old also liked the show and watched it together with my 4 year old.

Here is a brief description of the DVD:

Join Dan as he tries to save his mom's garden from a sneaky Compognathus by dino-trapping it!  However, his plan goes wrong when he ends up trapping a baby T-rex instead.  Will Dan ever capture the Compsognathus before it destroys his mom's garden?  Then it's time to celebrate Dan's birthday!  Join in on the party and a dino scavenger hunt with Dan and all his friends! Pocoyo's World Review

 

I have been given the opportunity to watch and review Pocoyo's World. My 2 and 4 year old daughters have always loved Pocoyo and I too love waching the cute little guy in blue clothes. I also like the other characters like Pato the Duck and Elli the Elephant. :) My daughters got excited when I opened the package and gave them the DVD. They watched it and I watched with them too.  I personally like The Seed episode because it taught my daughters how seeds grow to a plant. We actually made our own experiment of seeds and I showed them how to water them everyday so that they'll grow. I also like Pato's egg because my daughters learned what animal hatches from an egg. Other stories are very educational too and very simple to undertand so little kids can watch it too. :)

I always love it when my daughters find something they want to watch and pay attentively to it. I love it even more that Pocoyo teaches kids different things in a simple way. This is a great DVD even for little kids because it i so easy to understand and funny too. :)

Sid the Science Kid the Movie Review

Last week, I received a copy of Sid the Science Kid the Movie from NCircle Entertainment. As soon as I opened the package, my 2 year old daughter immediately held the DVD and wanted to watch it. I did play it and watched the movie with my 4 and 2 year old.

This is one of the movies we watched that they stay focused until the end of the movie.

The story is about Sid and Gabriella winning a contest to go to the newly built science museum. They met with 2 other kid scientists from China (Yangyang and Nunu) who also won the contest. They met the professor who built the museum. He showed them the solar system and introduced them to his robots. What sticked to my mind among the robots was the robot who changes dirty diapers of babies. LOL. Imagine if that was real!Then they met Bobby Bot who would tour them around the museum. They first went to the dinosaur world where Bobby Bot showed them the T-Rex and made it roar. They next went to the beehive where they saw super big bees the size of humans. They then went to a room that looks about playground and was taught about pulleys and probability. Then they went to a room that teaches about lightning. That's when the problem arises when Bobby Bot broke down and they tried to reprogram him. Bobby Bot became crazy and made the T-Rex dance, made the bees "moo" instead of buzzing and a lot more. Sid then came to the rescue by telling jokes so that they can reprogram Bobby Bot before the science museum opens to the public.

What I like about it is that it is very entertaining to my 2 and 4 year old. The movie taught about the basic solar system, dinosaurs (the T-REX) bees and the beehive, lightning, robots, pulleys, probability and Sid's jokes. :) What I like about it is that it is intended for children aged 4 and up. My 4 year old daughter understood the movie well. My 2 year old didn't understand it much but still she had fun watching it. It also taught sportsmanship because in every room, Bobby Bot asks a question and most of the time, the 2 older kid scientist (Yangyang and Nunu) answers the question correctly.

This is a great movie and would definitely be educational to children 4 and up. :)
