Thankfully, I've never accidentally dropped my phone when we're at the beach or when we're out fishing in the pier. But, I think it's inevitable specially with 2 girls who are 3 and 6 so I'm glad to have gotten a waterproof case to review.
The GeckoRed Universal Waterproof Case/Pouch works by insulating the device from elements like water, snow, dust or mud while retaining functionality. It's waterproof and can be used to protect mobile phones. money, credit cards or anything else that will fit inside. It's IPX8 certified for underwater use to a depth of 100 feet or 30 meters. The waterproof case has a double snap lock system which seals the mobile device within the case.
Most mobile devices will fit securely and snugly in the case. Compatible with iPhone 5, 5C & 5S, Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S3, HTC One/One

The GeckoRed Mobile Phone Universal Waterproof Pouch came in a black box. The waterproof case came with an ID lace and a microfiber cloth. Before using it, I tested it first if it has no damage or if it doesn't leak inside by using a tissue paper.
For the water test, here's what I did.
1. I placed a dry tissue paper inside the GeckoRed Waterproof case.
2. I closed the lock.
3. I submerged it in water for 3 minutes. (I had to put something heavy on top because it just floats.)
4. I dried up the outer case and opened to see if the tissue paper inside absorbed moisture.
5. Since the tissue paper was dry when I removed it from the case, the GeckoRed Waterproof Case works! :)
What did I like about the GeckoRed Waterproof Case?
- I like the color combination and the design.
- I like the double lock system because it provides extra safety for my mobile phone.
- I like the lanyard/ID lace included because I can just hang this on my neck.
- The lock system is a bit tight when I open it but I'm okay with that since I don't want to risk my phone getting wet.
- I can use my phone even without removing it from the GeckoRed Waterproof Case. I do have to tap it a bit harder when it's inside the waterproof case but again, that's fine with me since I prefer my phone protected than getting accidentally drenched in water.
- The camera on my phone works! Even when my phone is inside the GeckoRed Waterproof Case, the camera on my phone still works clearly.
- I like the extra free microfiber cloth because I can clean my phone's screen.
- I like that there's space inside the GeckoRed Waterproof Cellphone case for my cards and money. Even with my phone and my phone's casing, I can still place my cards and money inside the waterproof case.
So would I use this the next time we go to the beach? Definitely yes! :)
