Name A Star (Personalized Gift) Review and Giveaway (3 WINNERS) 2/10 WW

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
My 5 year old daughter has always been fascinated with stars. When I told her that I had a star named after her, she was super excited. I showed her where her star is located and she said it was "Soo coool!". :)

I was sent (via email) a certificate on where the star name after her is located and the coordinates. It has a specific longitude and latitude and when we view it on google maps, we saw where it was. Please note that the picture above is just a sample of the certificate and not my daughter's certificate. It has the same design though just different coordinates (star named after my daughter) and of course the certificate sent to me has my daughter's name. :)

I think it's nice too because I can include a message for her. When I hover the mouse pointer over the yellow pin on her star, I can see my message for her.

When I received my certificate through email (which is just a day after I sent in my daughter's name and my message for her), I had to download and install google earth first then download the star list  before I can view my daughter's star on the computer. It was fairly easy to do and it was amazing to see that indeed, a star has been named after my daughter. :)

I think this is a great gift because it will be treasured for a lifetime. They send it through email so if you're in a hurry to buy a gift for your loved one, you're at an advantage because you just have to print it and then frame it. For $12.99, this is a truly unique gift.

You can visit the  Name A Star website to learn more.

Now onto the giveaway! Name A Star Inc. has generously offered a giveaway for 3 of my readers for a  chance to win a Name A Star certificate (ARV: $12.99). You'll get a star named after your loved one and they'll email you a certificate as well. Hurry and enter on the rafflecopter below! :)

BeltLock - Gave Me Peace of Mind From Accidental Seatbelt Release

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you have small kids, then you should read my post about the BeltLock. This little and durable device prevents kids from accidentally opening their seatbelts.

As you have read in my previous posts, I have 2 daughters and they sit side-by-side in our car. Thus, the orientation of the carseats.

One time, I was turning left when all of a sudden, my 2 year old's car seat (the purple one) tumbled sideways. We were both scared to death. She had tears welling up on her face and repeatedly told me "Don't do that ever again mommy!"

I realized that my 5 year old daughter might have pressed my 2 year old's seat belt release button accidentally while removing her own seat belt. I am at fault too since I should've checked if the seat belt was properly secured before we left. This was the first time it happened and will be the last.

I was so happy and excited to receive my BeltLock. It was very compact, small, durable and easy to use. It can only be removed by the use of a key or a thin object.

The instructions were printed inside the wrapper used for the BeltLock itself. I found the instructions easy to follow. I have a video below for the step by step installation of the BeltLock. :)

Here, I have put the BeltLock on the seatbelt used for my 2 year old's car seat. As you can see in the picture, the release button of the seat belt is very safe now. It is secured by the BeltLock.

Only a key or a thin object can push the seat belt release button to release the seat belt.

I am much more confident now that I know my daughters are safer. It gave me peace of mind knowing my daughters wouldn't be able to accidentally release the seat belt lock.

I definitely recommend this product specially to those who have smaller children.

You can learn more about the BeltLock here http://beltlock.ie/index.php.

I posted a video of how the BeltLock works and how easily it can be installed. :)

Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze Review and Sweepstakes + Giveaway (3 WINNERS) 2/10 US

For me, I am not contented with clothes just being clean. I've always wanted them smelling good for weeks after washing them.

I used to only use a scented fabric softener for our clothes but then, the scent wouldn't last that long. Sometimes, the scent wouldn't even stick to the clothes.

When I first smelled the Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze, I was amazed at how good it smelled (I know I'm being redundant LOL). It really smells fresh and quite addicting. :D

I just placed a small amount of the Purex Crystals in our clothes together with the laundry soap and the results were great. It truly is a laundry freshener and it left our clothes smell good.

I really liked the smell of the Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze so I tried to put it in our bathroom as substitute for our air freshener.

I just opened the dried-up air freshener we have then I put in a little bit of the Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze inside.

It looks like a toilet plunger right? I thought so too. LOL.

I put the lid back on and placed it back where I usually put our air freshener.

In 30 minutes, our bathroom has the same scent as our clothes. I only placed a small amount of the Purex Crystals so as not to have that overpowering smell in the bathroom. I like it better if it's just enough for me to whiff the scent of the Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze. :)

I'm not sure how long this will last but I will update this post on how long this will last! :)

I'm also thinking of putting a little amount on our car to use as car freshener. I will update you with that! :)

Now read carefully. You have two chances to win a Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze coupon. One is through my rafflecopter giveaway (3 winners) and one is through the Purex Crystals Fresh Mountain Breeze Sweepstakes where there will be One grand prize winner who will receive $500 and 100 Second place winners who will receive a coupon for a Free Purex Crystals Mountain Breeze.

And if you'd like to enter the giveaway on my blog, you can enter below on the Rafflecopter for a chance to win a coupon for a Free Purex Crystals Mountain Breeze. There will be 3 winners!

Missy Mila Twisted Tales Volume 1 DVD Review and Giveaway 2/10 US/CAN

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
missymiladvd.jpg
My daughters are 2 and 5 and they both have their own favorite cartoon shows. They would often fight on what to watch and who would watch first. Of course they agree on one or two shows they like but most of the time, they would disagree on what to watch.

At first, I showed them the Missy Mila Twisted Tales Volume 1 DVD and their first reaction was they don't like to watch it. Maybe because the DVD cover looks plain. I told them to watch the first episode and if they don't like it, I'll remove the DVD and let them watch what they like.

So I placed the Missy Mila DVD in the DVD player and as soon as Mila showed up on the TV and talked, my daughters laughed a lot. I asked them if they wanted me to change it and they said no. :D

Of course I watched the DVD with them to see if it's age appropriate (I always do this whenever they watch a new toon).

What I liked about the Missy Mila Twisted Tales DVD is that every episode is only good for about 8 minutes. It is short enough to get their full attention (if you have little kids like me, you'll know how short their attention span is) and for every episode, Missy Mila interacts by asking questions on how things in the story happened. I heard my 5 year old answering the questions she asked per episode and I know she really watched the show because she answered correctly. :)

The individual twisted tales/episodes are also very nice because they are short adaptations of longer classic tales. The DVD has 13 different episodes and the running time is 101 minutes.

Their favorite episode (as they've told me) would be the Baba Yaga the Witch episode. After the last episode, my 5 year old daughter asked me if there are more of the Missy Mila Twisted Tales. When I said no, she asked me if it was on Netflix or Hulu. She was very disappointed when I said there's none.

Here is a description from Organa:
Mila is an 8-year-old quirky, energetic tomboy who loves to tell you traditional story-tales but with her own twist. Kids will be inspired to use their imagination and to become storytellers themselves. Audience participation is triggered by Mila's direct-to-camera asides all along the episode; her questions and games bring kids right into the story. Join Mila, laugh at the zany dialogs and fresh art in this innovative series which explores the world of classic tales.
Traditional tales are timeless stories that everyone loves to delve back into, generation after generation. Far from old-fashioned clichĂ©s, the series “Missy Mila: Twisted Tales” revamps this cultural heritage through the imagination and spontaneity of a present-day little girl. Mila’s stories are peppered with spicy anachronisms and offbeat re-interpretations. So, don’t act surprised if you see a prince applying hair gel before setting out to rescue a princess, unless the latter is a kung-fu champion, that is! As for the dreadful Minotaur, Mila prefers to picture him as the Toupouloupou, a sweetie pie with a sweet tooth. And why do the wolves always have to be depicted as the bad guys? And, in her very personal adaptation of the Three Little Pigs, Mila swaps the awfully shy big bad wolf for an affable bull that… rocks!
Missy Mila Volume 1 includes the episodes: The Hidden Princess, The Toupouloupou, Baba Yaga the Witch, Djoha’s Last Lie, Piboule and the Bear, Strabiwolf the Telltale, the Donkey and the King, The Houses of the Pig Brothers, Elvis, Captain Bloody-Nose the Pirate, The Leprechaun’s Treasure, Aurel the Mocker, Pancho Pimento’s Riddle.

SRP: $19.95

You can visit the Organa website at http://www.organa.com/kids/animated-stories/missy-mila.html.

And now for the giveaway! Organa has generously offered a giveaway for 1 Missy Mila Twisted Tales DVD for my readers! Yay! :) Please enter on the rafflecopter below. :)

Week 2 Weigh-In - Fail! :(

Today, I was scared to check my weight on the scale. Why? Because the past week, I pigged out. I didn't even want to write this update because I felt ashamed BUT I need to write this down to remind myself that I need to control my coffee addiction.

So here is the recap on what I did this past week:

- I did Hip Hobs 5x this week.
- I am proud I didn't drink any soda this week BUT
- I drank Trenta Iced Coffee with breve and Toffee Nut Syrup from Starbucks almost everyday
- I ate white rice 2x a day everyday.
- I ate snacks about 3x a day

My tummy didn't change from last week's picture but my weight did.

That's about it. Here is my updated weight today:

Starting weight (01/13/14): 144.6 lbs
Week 1 (01/20/14): 143.8 lbs
Week 2 (01/27/14): 146.0 lbs

Oh yes I gained 2.2 lbs and guess what? My weight even surpassed my initial weight! That's how easy I gain weight.

I WILL do better next week and I did promise myself I will refrain myself from drinking Iced Coffee from now on and will cut back down on rice to once a day again.

That Awkward Moment movie trailer review - in theaters Jan. 31, 2014 (Rated R) #AwkwardMomentChat

WARNING: Youtube video is not intended for young children. The movie is Rated R. :)

I'll be honest. I watched all the Highschool Musical movies because of Zac Efron. He was really cute back then but I saw that he has grown up when I watched the movie Charlie St. Cloud. He became "hot" then. LOL. :)

Now he'll be in a new Romantic Comedy Movie "That Awkward Moment" with Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan. This movie is about three male friends going on life's Awkward Moments where they have to make decisions about their own relationships.

The trailer was funny and because I am a semi-fan of Zac Efron (I said semi because I think he's hot but I don't really collect his posters and all :)), I would definitely watch this. I also think he became "hotter". LOL.

The scenes were a bit exaggerated (okay all romantic comedy films are an exaggeration of the truth. That's what makes them funny right?:)) but definitely funny.

I love the part in the trailer where he arrived at his girlfriend's party Ellie (portrayed by Imogen Poots) and was dressed up inappropriately and met his girlfriend's parents. Talk about AWKWARD. :D

You can also take the quiz to see if you're in a relationship or not here http://video.interlude.fm/tam/.

What do you think of the movie? Will you watch it? :)

DISCLAIMER:  I am a member of Chatterbox by House Party and have received a complimentary free That Awkward Moment Chat Pack (pictured above) to try and review however, all opinions are honest and my own and are not influenced in any way. No other form of compensation was received. I am disclosing this in accordance with FTC 16 CFR Part 255.

Boogie Wipes Review and Giveaway 2/6 US

My 2 daughters, specially my 5 year old, have seasonal allergies almost the entire year. They have runny noses all throughout the day. In the morning, when they wake up, there is so much booger build-up on their noses. Almost the entire opening of their nostrils would be filled with dried, crusty, stuck boogers.

They would often tear-up or run away when I try to remove the dried boogers on their noses. I know the feeling too so I try to come up with other ways to soften the dried booger first before trying to remove it.

When I have enough time, I would wash their faces with warm water for about 5 minutes. This will soften the boogers and make it easier to remove.

When I am in a hurry, I would use baby wipes to clean up their noses. They hate it when I do that and sometimes, their noses would dry up and sometimes chap from the constant use of baby wipes.

BoogieWipes.jpg

The Boogie Wipes definitely helped me get the job done. It comes in a lightly scented grape scent and a fresh scent. If you don't like the scented wipes, they also offer it unscented.

I like that it is very soft. The size of the individual wipes is also big (about 6x6 inches) which is nice because I only need 1 to clean up their noses. It is made with Natural Saline so it prevented my daughters' noses from drying up. It also prevented chapped noses maybe because it has Vitamin E, Chamomile and Aloe and is alcohol-free.

I noticed that my daughters are more likely to let me use the Boogie Wipes to clean their noses than the regular baby wipes. Their boogers would come off more easily than when I use baby wipes.

I like both the fresh and grape scent equally. My 2 year old daughter loved the grape scent and my 5 year old daughter loved the fresh scent.

The Boogie wipes is also available in 10-ct, 30-ct, 45-ct and a 90-ct tub.

If you'd like to win some Boogie Wipes swag and a backpack badge, head on over to www.boogiewipes.com. They will be giving away 1000 pledge kits each month for their campaign to Save the Sleeve. :)

You can visit the Boogie Wipes website, follow them on twitter, facebook, pinterest or instagram.

And now, Boogie Wipes has generously offered a giveaway for my readers! :) Enter at the rafflecopter below! :)

DISCLAIMER: 1 Winner will receive (1) 2 oz. can of Boogie Mist and (2) 10-ct. Boogie Wipes (fresh and grape scent). My giveaway would start January 28, 2014 at 12:00 AM PST and will end February 6, 2014 at 12:00 AM PST. This will be open to US residents only. The prize cannot be shipped to a P.O. box address. Pampers Kandoo Flushable Wipes and Kandoo Handsoap Review and Giveaway 2/4 US/CAN

When it comes to cleanliness, I always tell my daughters to wash their hands often and of course always after they potty. Well at least for my 5 year old who is potty trained already.

I've taught my 5 year old daughter how to use flushable wipes. Before, I used to use the baby wipes when she made potty but one time, she went potty herself and threw all the baby wipes she used on the toilet bowl! Imagine that! I had to remove all the baby wipes she threw in there! We had a long talk afterwards and I decided to buy flushable wipes for her.

For me, using tissue paper for doing #1 is okay but for doing #2, I always use moistened flushable wipes first (until it's really clean) and then dry up with tissue paper. Let's admit it, using only tissue paper after doing #2 doesn't feel that clean right? :) That's what I taught my 5 year old daughter too.

The Kandoo Flushable Wipes is perfect for little hands and little kids. The size of the flushable wipes is smaller than the flushable wipes I am using for myself. It's also unscented and hypoallergenic.

Have you bought anything that says unscented but when you smell it there's this weird smell on the product? Well the Kandoo Flushable Wipes definitely is unscented. And when I say unscented, I really mean unscented with no weird smelling scent. :)

I also like the thickness of the Kandoo Flushable Wipes. It's thick and very soft.  It's also sewer and septic safe and biodegradable so I don't have to worry about clogged toilets! :)

The 42-ct. Pampers Kandoo Flushable wipes is also very compact so I have 1 in my bag at all times. The flip-top cover also protects the wipes from drying up and it can be easily opened and closed by my 5 year old.

So after going potty, I've always told my daughters to wash their hands. My 2 year old daughter is still in the process of potty training but even though she's still not potty trained yet, she still LOVES to wash her hands often.

When my daughters saw the Pampers Kandoo Funny Berry hand soap, they were ecstatic. The soap container has the shape of a frog and since both my daughters love washing their hands, they were excited to try it.

My 2 year old daughter grabbed it and ran to the bathroom. She told me to take her picture with the Pampers Kandoo Hand Soap and immediately tried it.

I took a video of her using it for the first time. Here's her reaction to the Pampers Kandoo Hand Soap:

She even said "It smells so grape-y"  and I agree with her! LOL. What do you think of her comment?

The Pampers Kandoo Funny Berry Hand Soap has a purple foam. It might be just cute to look at but it has a purpose! The purple color showed my daughters if they've scrubbed their hands properly already. The scent is indeed "grape-y" like my 2 year old daughter said in her video.

I like that my daughters can push the Pampers Kandoo hand soap by themselves. The hand soap is very easy to dispense so the lock option for the hand soap pump is a BIG plus. This kept my daughters from finishing off the whole container of hand soap in just a few days. :)

One Pampers Kandoo Hand Soap also has 200+ pumps of soap. It also contains Vitamin E and Natural Fruite Extracts to moisturize the hands. It is dermatologist tested and is hypoallergenic.

If my daughters love washing their hands all the time, they love bath time more! They always spend more time taking a bath than me! LOL. Well that's because bath time is also their play time. :)

One thing I noticed with my 2 daughters' hairs is that it tangles easily. Even though my 5 year old daughter's hair is super straight, it tangles easily. My 2 year old daughter's hair is a bit wavy and it tangles easily too. When they step out of the shower, their hairs are a mess! I always have to use a detangler to comb and untangle their hair.

I tried the Pampers Kandoo 2 in 1 conditioning Shampoo on them and they loved the scent. It's also purple in color and it has a grape-y/strawberry/orange-y smell.

I like that when they stepped out of the shower, their hairs are a little less tangled. Their hairs were easier to comb too. I also like that their hair smelled nice the whole day. I also like that it's Tear-Free and the container is very cute too.

One thing I must recommend is to have a lock on the pump too like the Pampers Kandoo Hand Soap. I forgot to tell my girls not to play with the shampoo so they used up almost half of it already.

4 New Songs By UK Artists Worth Listening To

I have always been a music lover. I've listened to A LOT of songs since I was in elementary school and have had my favorite artists as well.  Listening to music makes me concentrate more while studying. I always have music on when I study (when I was younger) and when I write on my blog (that's what I'm doing now. :))

I like hearing new songs and discovering new artists to listen to as well.

If you're looking for new songs or artists to listen to, then you've come to the right place. or post. or blog. Oh just read on because I've discovered 4 artists which are worth listening to. :)

McCrei - More Than Good Friends

McCrei is a sister duo from UK formed in the second half of 2012. Shannon and Leanne McCree were solo artists before they decided to team up together. The songs they write are from their own experiences and observations on life.

The opening melody and the voice made me interested to listen to the song. It was so powerful and strong that it gave me the chills. :) The title itself depicts a friendship that should've been more than friends.  I like the song and I hope to hear more songs from McCrei.

Hear their song More Than Good Friends for yourself here https://soundcloud.com/mccrei/more-than-good-friends and tell me what you think.

Ollie Banks - Back To You

Ollie Banks is a 21 year-old singer/song writer. She has been singing since she was 9 years old and was trained in classical music until Grade 8 but knew that classical music wasn't her genre. At 17, she finally knew what kind of music she wanted to make - pop.

I love the upbeat and catchy melody of the song. The song Back To You somehow reminded me of Carly Rae Jepsen's - Call Me Maybe. They I think this song would be a great hit because the beat and melody fits perfectly for teenagers and young adults.

London Roots - Seeds of Change

London Roots aka Mr. Rootsy was a Live UK Nominee for Best Breakthrough Artist in 2013. He is the no. 1 downloaded urban artist for Twitmusic and number 1 in their Rap Charts.

Seeds of Change is a rap song with a melodic chorus. The lyrics of the song is very inspirational. For me, the song is about how your actions and decisions might affect other people's life.

Kaleidophone - What You're Made Of

Kaleidophone is a band composed of 4 lads from South East of England. They write and perform upbeat indie/pop music, mixing disco drum beats, spiky guitars and deep, fuzzy base sounds and music. They were also dubbed by BBC Radio as the new Vampire weekend. Here are the band members:

Mark (Coxon) Wells - Lead Vocals & Guitar
Al (Hairyman) Holland - Vocals & Guitar
James (Baby-Face) Holland - Bass Guitar
Mark (Drummerboy) Thompson - Drums

What You're Made of is a rock/techno/pop song combined together. The song starts with a nice guitar/drums instrumental. The voice of the lead vocal is very deep and rich. The song is very catchy too. It really stuck to my head and I kept singing the "We Know What You're Made Of" part of the song the whole day. :)

You can learn more about them here http://www.kaleidophone.co.uk.

On February 28, they will be supporting 90's Legends Space when embark on their UK wide tour.

Week 1 Weigh-in, CHECK! :)

If you have read my post before, I finally told myself that I am going to start my resolution to lose weight now. If you haven't read it yet, you can read it here: Today, I'm REALLY starting my resolution to lose weight

Starting weight (January 13, 2014): 144.6 lbs.
Week 1: 143.8 lbs

My weight didn't go down much but I felt the difference on my tummy. Here are the pictures.

I did the Hip Hop Abs' Hips Buns and Thighs Monday to Friday, the Hip Hop Abs' Ab Sculpt on Tuesday and Thursday and I did the Hip Hop Abs' Total Body Burn on Sunday.

I do not follow the workout plan that's included in the DVDs I bought. :) I just go with what I want to do.

My biggest challenge yet is to really cut back on rice, lattes, iced coffee with milk and syrup and soda. This week, I drank 3 lattes with the flan syrup from Starbucks and 3 cans of Cherry Coke. I know this is the reason for not losing that much weight but gradually, I'll cut it down to about 1 coffee and 1 soda a week. :)

So there. I may not have lost that much weight but I am glad that I can see a difference on my tummy specially on my side view. :)

I'm going to post an update again next week. :)

La Beaute Pure Vitamin C Serum Review and Giveaway 1/29 US

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Since I was young, I wasn't that much interested in beauty products for the face since my mom doesn't use them too. The only beauty product for the face we use was a facial wash to cleanse our face before going to bed. That's it. :)

About 3 years ago, I became a little bit interested in make-up and began searching on youtube on how to apply the basics: eyeliner and mascara.

Last year, I noticed my face beginning to lose it's glow. I'm 25. This shouldn't be happening! I noticed I have quite a few dark spots on my face. Are these from pimple scars? From the sun? Maybe. Maybe not.

I started using a brightening serum I won from a giveaway and I did notice a little bit of improvement after using it for about a month but it took some time.

I heard about Vitamin C Serum and found out about how it is used to make sun spots, dark spots and discolorations fade.

I was lucky to be able to work with La Beaute Pure and they sent me a full-sized sample of their Vitamin C Serum. I received this 2 weeks ago. I ordered it through Amazon and it arrived very quickly. It was packed simply and economically.

They Vitamin C Serum was in an amber bottle and the dropper was in a different plastic.

I carefully read the directions and it was simple. I just need a few drops on my fingertips and then apply it throughout my face and neck. I can put on a moisturizer after the Vitamin C Serum has been absorbed. That's it.

I usually use this at night before going to bed. My night-time routine would be to cleanse my face with my facial cleanser, apply the Vitamin C Serum, wait for about 15 seconds (it doesn't say how long I have to wait but I think my skin has absorbed the serum after about 15 seconds), then apply my moisturizer.

The serum is clear in color. It has this very light, fruity/tangy smell.

I only need about 4 to 5 drops of the Vitamin C Serum for my whole face and neck. It says it lasts up to 72 hours so I only apply it every night. I noticed that the second night I used it, my skin under the eyes have become a little bit flaky and dry. After that, my skin became okay. :)

Here is a picture of me before using the La Beaute Pure Vitamin C Serum and after 1 week of using it. (Don't mind the red spot below my nose because that's my pimple acting up :).) I have noticed that my skin became less oily and tighter after 1 week of using it. I also noticed that the dark spots on my cheeks have become lighter. They didn't completely disappear but they've become lighter. :)

I will continue using the La Beaute Pure Vitamin C Serum and post another review after another week of using the it.

You can read more about La Beaute Pure Vitamin C Serum on Amazon or on their website. :)

Can you see the difference? Do you want to try it too? :)
