MY REVIEW:
Ever since I watched Boys Over Flowers almost 6 years ago, it's a Korean Drama by the way, I became fascinated with the Korean language. Aside from the main actors being cute (pretty boys to be more exact), the story was so light, romantic and funny. After that, I became a fan of Korean dramas but I still rely on the English subtitles to understand the dramas properly.
When I was accepted to try and review the Rocket Korean Premium Learn To Speak Korean, I was super excited because I would be able to learn more Korean words in the comfort of my own home.
I was given a log-in information to access the modules for free. The lesson started with a voice in English which explained the module a little bit. The instructions in English were very clear and after that, I was able to hear a conversation in English as well as the translation of the conversation in Korean. Every Korean phrase in the lesson was explained on how and when it is used. I liked that because I am aware that the Korean language (based on the Korean dramas I've watched) has a lot of formalities and some words have the same meaning but are said differently.
I haven't gotten past the first lesson yet (I am in the testing period right now) because I got busy with other things. The good part is, I can study the course in my own pace and at the comfort of my own home. I like the testing part because I get to record my own voice when I say the phrases in Korean. I get to hear if I said the phrases right or if I need to practice a bit more. What I noticed was that every time I need to record my voice, I needed to confirm/allow the microphone on my headset before it works. It is a bit of a hassle because I have to click "allow" every time I record my voice.
There's also a forum where I can interact with other members who are learning Korean too. I think this is nice because I can ask and answer questions from people who share the same interest, which is, learning Korean. :)
