King Athletic Resistance Band Set Review

Last year of January, I wrote a resolution of losing weight. Ever since January 2014, I've now lost 18.6 lbs and I've been trying to lose at least 5 lbs. more. Visit my blog post HERE to read about my resolution. :)

So, I've made modifications on my diet and I'm now working out regulary (Insanity, yes!). I've also started strength training but since we have limited space at home, I look for other ways to do strength training which doesn't require too much space as well as storage space. Exercise equipments wouldn't fit in our home and our apartment's gym has limited equipments, and usually, somebody else is using the equipments. I can't commit to going to a gym because I wouldn't be able to commit in driving to and from the gym regularly. So, when I learned about resistance bands, I was excited because I can start strength training at the comfort of my own home.

 The King Athletic Resistance Resistance Bands arrived in a drawstring bag. The bag contains the following:
- 5 Resistance Bands in the following color and resistance:
         - Yellow: 6 lbs
         - Blue: 10 lbs
         - Red: 15 lbs
         - Green: 18 lbs
         - Black: 20lbs.
- 2 Foam Handles
- 2 Ankle Straps
- 1 Door Anchor

The bag of resistance bands with all the accessories only weighs 762 grams. I like that it doesn't weigh much because I can bring it on the go as well. The drawstring bag included can be used as a storage bag or a carrying bag for the bands.

The different resistance in each band is nice as well because I can start off with the lowest resistance and work my way up until I can do the one with the highest resistance. During the first few reps, I felt like the bands aren't working but as I do more reps, I felt the resistance and I like how my muscles get a bit sore after doing a series of set.

The foam handles are soft and comfortable to use. I also like the ankle straps as well as the door anchor because I can also work my legs, thighs and other muscle groups. The bands are soft and smooth and are very stretchy. When unstretched, the bands measure approximately 39 inches.

Each resistance band has a metal clip on each side and I like how easy this is to attach and detach from the foam handles. There are illustrations on the drawstring bag, which are ways on how to use the resistance bands, for those who's just starting on resistance bands which I think is nice.

I like that these haven't snapped or broke yet and I like how I only need little space when doing the exercises using these bands. I also like how effective they are and that I only need a small space when storing them.

I choose the smaller, portable strength training accessories because we live in an apartment and space is limited. I can't commit to going to the gym because as a stay at home mom, I don't have the time to drive to the gym and workout there. The 212 Resistance Bands also has a booklet which shows the different ways I can use them.

There are 33 different exercise moves in the booklet which are easy to follow and can be done at home.

I tried some of the exercise moves and was impressed that the more reps I do, the harder it gets.

I can work various muscle groups and I like how I only need a small space to move.

Storing them is also easy and I like how light these bands are. I can bring it on the go because of the carrying bag and it doesn't take up too much space when I store them.

The handles have a foam feel which makes it more comfortable to my hands. I love the different resistance of each tube because I can start from the lightest and move my way up a I grow stronger.

These tubes are durable and they stretch but they come back to their original form. I love how I can get stronger in the comfort of my own home.

Boson Sport Jump Rope Review

It's been more than a decade since I last used a jump rope and I remember that I can go on for a long time using the jump rope when I was younger. I received the Boson Jump Rope and I was so excited to see if I can still jump rope for a long time like I did when I was younger. The Boson Jump Rope arrived in a white and blue box. The handles were light and are made of plastic and has a soft foam grip. The iron wire is enclosed in a nylon/plastic case. The overall weight of the jump rope is fairly light.

What I like about the Boson Jump Rope is that I could adjust the length of the jump rope to match my height. I never knew jump rope should have a specific height for me to be able to use it properly. The directions on how to measure the jump rope for my height is printed on the back of the box.

Okay. So, after trying out the Boson Jump Rope, I can't believe I didn't even last a minute using the jump rope! After just a couple of seconds jumping, I already felt my heart racing. I firmly believe this is a nice cardio exercise. I can do this while watching a Korean Drama so that's a double purpose for me: burning off calories while watching a K-drama. :)
