Setting Makeup With The Evian Facial Spray + Giveaway 3/29 US/CAN #evianspray

I've never tried a facial spray or mist before and was surprised when I learned about the things I can do with a facial spray. When I was given the chance to try Evian's Facial Spray, I was quite excited to see how it can help with my oily face.

Before I head on over to my review, here is a short description of what the Evian Facial Spray is all about:

Evian ®Natural Mineral Water’s journey starts as rain and snow high atop the French Alps after which it filters for over 15 years through glacial rock and sand to a deep underground catchment just outside the town of Evian-Les-Bains, France. The water contained in the spray is tested 300 times per day to insure quality and the consistent unique mineral content—guaranteed to be the same year after year—canister to canister. Evian Facial Spray was originally introduced in France in 1962 at the request of doctors for use on burn patients. It was the first facial water spray in France and was introduced as the first facial spray in the United States in 1978. Because of the current world-wide awareness of the Evian brand name, and the 36 year efforts of the USA exclusive distributor (The Wilkes Group Inc. in Old Lyme, CT), Evian is the only facial spray to be carried by many prestige retail groups including Nordstrom and Sephora. It is also offered in many luxury resorts and hotels such as Four Seasons.
The French Government has extremely stringent standards for approving mineral waters as suitable to drink. Evian Facial Spray is the only mineral water spray in the USA to contain such a water and the only one with a companion drinkable bottled mineral water. Worldwide, the Evian brand can be found now in over 120 countries.
The Wilkes Group was founded in 1976 and has distributed Evian Facial Spray since 1978. The company is focused primarily on prestige distribution at retail and luxury resorts/hotels that buy the product as a room, cabana, or poolside amenity.

I read the directions before trying out the Evian Facial Spray. The Evian Facial Spray helps in intensifying makeup colors, reviving color throughout the day and probably my favorite one is it helps in setting makeup after application for a more youthful look.

For this post, I will concentrate on how to set the powder mineral foundation using the Evian Facial Spray.

First of all, I applied my Ageless Derma mineral powder foundation on my clean and dry skin. I like to dab the foam applicator until the foundation looks equal as opposed to swiping it throughout my skin.

Next, after applying my mineral powder foundation throughout my face and neck, I shake the Evian Facial Spray a few times. I then hold the can about 12 inches away from my face and proceed to spray it on my face in a circular motion for about 3 seconds. The Evian Facial Spray feels cool and light against my skin.

After about a minute, I proceed to apply a thin eyeliner to finish my barely-there, no makeup look.

I noticed how the Evian Facial Spray helped make the foundation appear more natural. It eliminated the powdery look and made my skin look dewy and fresh.

I also like to use this at noon when my skin becomes oily. I noticed that by using the Evian Facial Spray, I can retouch my makeup by first blotting my skin with a blotting paper to absorb excess oil and then spraying the Evian Facial Spray in a circular motion. In doing this, my skin looks more fresh and hydrated.

Here are some other tips from Evian on how to use their spray:

To create intense color: Spray your brush with evian® Facial Spray before applying colorful or metallic eyeshadow to create intense, bold colors that don’t look chalky.

For contouring and blending: Before blending bronzer with foundation, wet a Beauty Blender or other blending tool with evian® Spray to create an airbrushed, flawless look. You can also use evian® Facial Spray to blend foundation along the jawline and neck to eliminate unwanted foundation lines.

Lastly, I like to use the Evian Facial Spray at noon even without makeup on. It refreshes my skin and makes it look hydrated and fresh. When I use it without makeup, I spray the Evian Facial Spray for about 8 seconds. I let the mist/water stand for about 30 seconds on my face and then pat it dry with a clean facial tissue. My skin looks a lot better afterwards because all the excess oil would come off.
