Morning Pep Xylitol Review + Giveaway 2/9 US/CAN
I've tried several sweeteners and sugar substitutes in the past and one thing I noticed about them is that they seem to always have that bitter, "alcohol"-like aftertaste. No matter how hard I try to get used to them, I can only use them on my oatmeal because that's the only food I can eat without tasting the "alcohol" like aftertaste of sweeteners and sugar substitute.
This time, I got to try a natural sweetener from Morning Pep. They sent me their Xylitol which is a 100% Pure Natural Sweetener made from Real Birch.
What is Xylitol? Here is a quick description of the Morning Pep Xylitol:
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Contains Only 5 Carbon Atoms While the Standard Sugar Molecule is Composed of 6.
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Is The Optimal Sugar Substitute For Everyone Worried About Weight Loss or The General Overuse of Sugar. Even With its Low Calories.
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Does Not Compromise on Taste. However, Xylitols Low Calorie Sweetness is Only the Beginning of its Nutritional Benefits. Low Glycemic Index, Common Sugar Has A Glycemic Index Score of 85-100 While
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Has A Glycemic Index of Only 7.
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Has Been Included In Dental And Health-Care Products. Ask Your Dentist How
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol Can Assist In Increasing Your Overall Health.
✓ Morning Pep Xylitol is a healthier alternative to other sugars and sweeteners with a third of the calories of regular sugar.
I received the 2.5 lb. bag of Morning Pep's Xylitol. It arrived in a resealable bag. It says at the back of the packaging that it is Kosher and free of GMO, Corn, Wheat, Gluten, Soy & Dairy.
The xylitol particles have a bigger appearance than regular sugar and for me, it is more similar to a rock salt appearance. I tasted it by itself first and I am impressed that compared to other sweeteners, this has the most similar taste to sugar. The alcohol aftertaste and bitter aftertaste is not as strong as the zero calorie sweeteners I've tried in the past and once I add it to my coffee and oatmeal, my food taste exactly similar to when I add regular sugar to it.
The measurement of the Morning Pep's Xylitol is similar to how much I'd use a regular sugar but the calories are lower and the glycemic index is way, way lower than regular sugar. It's not zero calorie BUT as I've said, the taste is much better than the zero calorie sweeteners.
I've been using this to sweeten my coffee and I can say that I'm loving it. The calories I take in when using regular sugar adds up throughout the day so swapping regular sugar with Xylitol makes a small but noticeable difference.
This is also perfect for baking and cooking.
