Exsanguinate - World of Blood Series - Book One Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Exsanguinate Synopsis:

They can’t touch you. What could possibly go wrong at Orlando’s beloved Global Studios Halloween Scream Nights theme park? Cheyenne O’Cuinn’s task is to study fear even though she is the biggest chicken on the planet. In order to carve out a slice of the billion dollar scare industry for her online role-play company, she researches what causes people to run screaming out of haunted attractions.

Determined to face her own fear of Oldhouseophobia, Cheyenne confronts her bloodcurdling obsession - the dreaded haunted house. Her worst nightmare manifested, Cheyenne is brutally attacked and left for dead by a rogue vampire. Splattered across the front page of the Orlando Sentinel, Cheyenne discovers her sisters are missing while she recovers in the hospital.

The ransom call from the kidnapper sets into motion the rabbit hole of a parallel supernatural reality she invades to rescue her family. In a race against the hourglass, Cheyenne confronts a double-agent vampire, a cyberchondriac werewolf, and a mafioso dragon. Can they be trusted to help her, or are they a part of the twisted scheme?

With her sister’s lives on the line, Cheyenne has no choice but to beat the kidnappers at their own game and ensnare them with her own brand of deception.

My thoughts:
I was excited to read the Exsanguinate - World of Blood Series because of 2 reasons. First is because I was a fan of online gaming. I started playing an online RPG (role playing game) text-based game called Achaea when I was in highschool and then RAN online, an MMORPG type of game, when I was in college. Second is because I am a fan of urban fantasy books, specially those about vampires and werewolves.
Because I used to play online RPG games, I was able to relate to the characters in Exsanguinate. I was influenced by my friends to play Achaea (this is the name of the text-based online RPG) when I was in highschool and I can say that I can relate to the feeling of being so immersed in my character that sometimes, I feel like we're one.  I just wish that I can also try their super advanced technology gaming simulation. :P

Exsanguinate - World of Blood - Book One by Killion Slade made me want to read more. As an avid reader of novels and books about supernatural beings, specially vampires and werewolves, I can say this book is more unique and more interesting than other similar books I've read. I love the character development of Cheyenne, the female protagonist. I also love that there are other new supernatural beings included in the story like dragons. The story doesn't revolve around Cheyenne only, but to the other characters as well.

I am a fast reader so I read this book in 1 sitting. I can't seem to put it down once I started reading it so I just finished it throughout the night. :P Each chapter is shorter compared to other books I've read but it's well paced. I like that in some chapters, other characters in the book are highlighted. Reading Exsanguinate brought me fear (just a little bit, I promise :)), fantasy, romance, action and humor.

I am disappointed though because I was left hanging and craving for the next part of the Exsanguinate series. I can't wait to read the next book in the series on what will happen to Cheyenne, her sisters and her friends.

GCx2 Garcinia Cambogia & Green Coffee Bean Week 1 Review

If you've been following my post, I have been trying to lose weight for quite some time now. I was sent a free GCx2 Garcinia Cambogia & Green Coffee Bean full-sized bottle for review. The bottle contains 946 ml. and the directions are to take 1 tbsp. 1 hour before meals, twice daily.

I have been taking this exactly for a week now but I seem to be stuck in a plateau stage. With no change in my diet and no exercise, my weight is at 142.6 lbs.

If you've tried the green-colored Nerds, then you shouldn't be suprised because the taste of GCx2 reminded me of those. It tasted better when I refrigerated it so do that before taking your first dose (although it says to refrigerate after opening, refrigerate it before opening so it'll taste bettter. :))

I will incorporate hip hop abs and try to limit my calories in the following weeks and will give an update on my weekly weigh-in. :) I hope this will help me in my goal to lose weight since I've heard a lot of good things about Garcinia Cambogia and Green Coffee Bean.

Stay tuned for my update next week and I'll post a before and after picture as well. :)

Have you tried any weight loss supplement?

SHAKE Flip-top Pill Box by Sabi Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

If you take pills or multivitamins everyday, then you might have experienced spilling the pills or vitamins accidentally because of the wide open neck right? Or how about sticking your hand inside the bottle to get 1 pill? Or dispensing more than 1 pill then returning the other pill back inside the bottle? Plus, the child proof bottles are sometimes annoying to open. Right?

As a mom of 2 girls who are 3 and 5, I should prefer the pill bottles which are child proof right? I don't have arthritis but I still prefer the ones which are easy to open. I put medicine and pill bottles in a shelf they can't reach and I've taught my daughters and they know very well NEVER to open bottles or put anything in their mouth if they're not familiar with it.

So I was excited when I was sent a Sabi SHAKE Flip-Top Pill Box to try and review.

I placed my allergy medicine inside and tried dispensing it 3 times. On the first and third try, 2 pills were dispensed from the hole. The picture above with 1 pill is my second try of dispensing the pill. Well it's still better than having to reach inside the bottle and grabbing 1 pill.

It also has a dial on the lid which is meant to indicate the expiry date (month) of the medicine placed inside the SABI Pill Box. The dial can be turned to the month of the expiry date of the pills placed inside.

The cover is very easy to flip open and close. There is also a cork which is meant to hold the pills inside when traveling.

The cork can be placed under the bottle if the SABI Flip-top Pill box is to be set on a shelf or table. If you take more than 1 kind of pill per day, I suggest labeling the SABI bottle outside with the pill you place inside.

Overall, I love the design of the SABI Flip-Top Pill Box. It might be bigger than my pill bottles at home but the ease of dispensing 1 medicine at a time makes up for the bigger size. I also love the easy-to-open flip-top lid. Luckily for me, my daughters are very well trained to never open bottles or eat something unfamiliar so the easy-to-open flip-top lid is safe for me. Plus of course I place medicines on a shelf they can't reach for added safety. :)

CHOP Minimal Effort Pill Cutter Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I used to use a knife if I need to cut my pills in half and sometimes, the other half of the pill launches off when I'm not careful or worse, one portion of the pill is bigger than the other one.

I was given the chance to review the CHOP Easy Pill Cutter by Sabi and was excited to try it.

The gray rubber in the middle acts like a cushion and prevents the pill from slipping.

Well it didn't really cut through when I tried to use my fingers. I had to use my palms to cut through the pill but even so, it didn't require much effort. :)

The Sabi CHOP pill cutter cut the pill in half perfectly. No more flying/launching pill and no more uneven parts.

I like the small, compact size of the CHOP pill cutter because I can just put it in my bag. The blade is a non-steel/non-razor durable plastic poly blade so I wouldn't worry about rusting in the future. It is also BPA free.

CRUSH Easy Pill Smasher by Sabi Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
When I was younger I couldn't swallow pills.  I only learned how to swallow pills when I was about 12 years old. What my mom did was she would always crush the pill with a metal pestle (she uses this to pound garlic) and sometimes, the pill would launch/fly when she pounds it with the pestle.

The Sabi CRUSH Easy Pill Smasher is much lighter than the pestle my mom used to use.

The top blue portion can be used to store pills but the lid is a bit easy to open so in my opinion, there is a chance for the blue lid to open if dropped accidentally.

The pill stays at the bottom of the Sabi CRUSH Pill Smasher. You just need to put the blue cover on top and twist it in a clockwise direction. No more flying/launching pills! :)

The pill was powderized in just 1 try. :) I love how easy it was to twist the Sabi CRUSH Pill Smasher. It didn't take much effort to crush the pill. It's also BPA free and the quality of the CRUSH Pill Smasher is good. When time comes, I know this will be handy for my daughters.

CARAFE Water Cup Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Have you ever experienced forgetting to get water when you get your pills? You know, the one where you get your pills, sit in front of the television or computer and realize you forgot to get water? I'm not gonna lie because it has happened to me a lot of times already and sometimes it gets annoying. Right? :)

The Sabi CARAFE Water Cup with two-compartment pill box was the solution to my problem. :)

The clear, plastic cup is thick and BPA-free and can hold 124 ml. of water.

The white stopper/cover is actually a 2-compartment pill box which is suitable for any pill size. Plus the blue cover will prevent the pills from dropping/spilling over.

I love the idea of having a water container with the pill compartment since I will definitely never going to forget my water when I get my pills. :) I can just put this on my bedside or desk so that my pill and water is handy and accessible at all times. :)
